Anisometropic describes a condition where the refractive power (ability to bend light) differs significantly between a person's two eyes. This means one eye might be nearsighted, while the other is farsighted, or they might have different degrees of the same refractive error. Itβs like having two different cameras with different lens settings. This can lead to blurred vision, headaches, or double vision, as the brain struggles to merge the two different images. Glasses or contacts with different prescriptions for each eye are usually required.
