Definition
An antagonist is a character or force that opposes the protagonist (the main character) in a story. Think of it as the 'bad guy' or the obstacle the hero must overcome đ. They create conflict and drive the plot forward. Unlike the protagonist, who the audience usually roots for, the antagonist often has opposing goals or beliefs. They can be a person, a group, or even an internal struggle. Its presence is essential to making a story interesting.
