Definition
Antlia is a faint constellation in the Southern Celestial Hemisphere. Representing an air pump, it was introduced by Nicolas-Louis de Lacaille in the 18th century. It's not a very prominent constellation, meaning it's not very bright or noticeable. Antlia is relatively small and contains few bright stars. Finding it can be a challenge unless you have a good star chart and clear skies. Its name reflects the scientific interests of its creator during the Age of Enlightenment.
