Definition
An apprehender is someone who understands or grasps something, or someone who arrests a suspect. It encompasses both mental understanding and physical capture. Think of Sherlock Holmes, who both 'apprehends' clues and 'apprehends' criminals. It's more active than simply 'knowing;' it involves taking hold of information or a person. Unlike simply observing, an apprehender actively engages with the subject. Picture a student quickly grasping a complex math concept or a police officer catching a fleeing suspect.
