Definition
An aurora is a natural light display in the sky, predominantly seen in the high-latitude regions (around the Arctic and Antarctic). Auroras occur when charged particles, mainly electrons and protons, from the sun collide with gases in the Earth's atmosphere. This collision excites the atmospheric gases, causing them to emit light of various colors. The most common colors are green and pink, but red, yellow, blue, and violet are also possible. Imagine it as the sky putting on a dazzling, colorful show after being energized by the sun's particles. 🌌
