Baldr (also spelled Balder) is the Norse god of light, beauty, innocence, and peace. He's known as one of the fairest and most beloved gods in Asgard. His death is a pivotal event in Norse mythology, foretelling Ragnarok. Baldr's dreams of his own death prompted his mother, Frigg, to extract oaths from everything not to harm him. He's like the ultimate golden child, everyone loves him and nothing can hurt him, or so it seemed. Baldr's story is a tragic reminder that even the most invulnerable can have a weakness.
