A "banshie" is simply an alternate spelling of "banshee," a female spirit in Irish folklore whose wailing cry is a harbinger of death. She's said to appear when a family member is about to die, lamenting their impending demise. Banshees are often associated with specific families and their ancestral homes. She can be terrifying or sorrowful. π Think of her as the ultimate death knell. Like ghosts, banshees are primarily auditory apparitions.
