Bede (c. 672–735), also known as Saint Bede or the Venerable Bede, was an English Benedictine monk, scholar, and historian. 📜 He is considered the "Father of English History" because of his book *Historia ecclesiastica gentis Anglorum* (Ecclesiastical History of the English People). He wrote about the history of Christianity in England and the lives of saints. He was a prolific writer and teacher. ✍️ He lived his entire life in monasteries in Northumbria (modern-day northern England).
