Definition
Biaxal is another (less common) spelling of biaxial. It means the same thing: having two axes. It's used primarily in scientific and technical contexts. Think of a sheet of plywood: it has strength along two axes due to the way the wood layers are arranged. It can describe geometric shapes, stress patterns, or crystal structures. Biaxal and biaxial can be used interchangeably, but biaxial is the preferred spelling.
