Bill Russell (1934-2022) was an American professional basketball player. He played center for the Boston Celtics from 1956 to 1969. He led the Celtics to 11 NBA championships. He was a five-time NBA Most Valuable Player and a twelve-time All-Star. Russell was also a civil rights activist. He's like the ultimate team player, both on and off the court. He used his platform to fight for equality and inspire others to do the same.
