Definition
A bola (or bolas) is a throwing weapon made of weights connected by cords. It is designed to entangle an animal's legs, causing it to fall. Traditionally used by indigenous peoples in South America, especially the gauchos, for hunting. It consists of multiple balls or weights attached to a rope. Unlike a lasso, which snares the neck, the bola targets the legs. Think of it as a tripping hazard you throw.
