Definition
A "bottom-dweller" is an organism that lives on or near the bottom of a body of water. 🐡 Think of anglerfish lurking in the deep sea or flounders camouflaged against the seabed. Unlike surface-dwelling creatures, bottom-dwellers are adapted to the unique conditions of the ocean floor. The term can also be used to describe something or someone considered to be at the lowest level in a social hierarchy. It is similar to calling something "low class."
