Calamity Jane (c. 1852-1903), whose real name was Martha Jane Canary, was a famous frontierswoman of the American Old West. She gained notoriety as a skilled markswoman, scout, and performer in Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. Think of her as a real-life action star in the 1800s.
