Definition
Canada ginger, also known as *Asarum canadense*, is a low-growing, herbaceous perennial plant native to eastern North America. While it shares a ginger-like aroma, it is not related to the ginger used in cooking. Its leaves are heart-shaped or kidney-shaped. The flowers are bell-shaped and usually hidden under the leaves. It thrives in shady, moist woodland environments 🌲. It's also used as a groundcover in gardens.
