Definition
The cardinal tetra is a small, brilliantly colored freshwater fish popular in aquariums. It's known for its bright red stripe that runs the length of its body, complemented by an iridescent blue stripe above. These fish are peaceful and enjoy swimming in schools. They add a vibrant splash of color to any fish tank. Unlike some solitary fish, cardinal tetras thrive in groups, making them ideal community fish. They are native to the Orinoco and Negro rivers in South America.
