Chiliasm is an older term, largely synonymous with millenarianism and millenniumism, referring to the belief in a future 1,000-year golden age of peace and righteousness on Earth. It is often associated with the return of Christ and a physical, earthly kingdom. This belief frequently involves a dramatic transformation of society and the environment. Envision it as a specific type of millenarian thought, emphasizing the earthly reign. Chiliasm isn't as commonly used today, but the concept remains.
