Definition
Chilomeniscus refers to a genus of small, secretive snakes found in the southwestern United States and Mexico. They are commonly known as sand snakes due to their preference for sandy habitats. These snakes are non-venomous and relatively harmless to humans. They spend much of their time burrowed beneath the sand, making them difficult to spot. Think of them as the ninjas of the snake world, always hiding just beneath the surface. ๐๏ธ
