Definition
A chondrule is a small, rounded grain found in chondrite meteorites. These spherical or elliptical inclusions are typically a millimeter or so in diameter. They formed in the early solar system from molten droplets that rapidly cooled. Chondrules represent some of the oldest solid material in the solar system. Imagine them as primordial space dust that clumped together. Studying chondrules provides valuable insights into the conditions that existed during the formation of planets. They are essentially cosmic building blocks from the dawn of our solar system.
