A cloud chamber is a device used to detect ionizing radiation, like alpha and beta particles. It works by creating a supersaturated vapor of alcohol or water in a sealed environment. When a charged particle passes through, it ionizes the gas, causing the vapor to condense around the ions and form a visible track, like a miniature cloud. It’s like seeing the invisible made visible. Unlike a microscope, it doesn't magnify things, but it makes them appear by affecting the environment.
