Definition
A coral snake is a brightly colored, venomous snake belonging to the family Elapidae. Found primarily in the Americas, these snakes are known for their distinctive patterns of red, yellow (or white), and black bands. The rhyme "Red touches yellow, kill a fellow; red touches black, venom lack" is often used to differentiate venomous coral snakes from non-venomous mimics, but this is only reliable in some regions. Their venom is neurotoxic, affecting the nervous system. Think of them as the fashionistas of the snake world, dressed to kill! They're like nature's warning sign, beautiful but dangerous.
