Definition
A diving bell is a rigid chamber used for underwater work. It's open at the bottom, allowing divers to enter and exit while keeping the inside relatively dry. The pressure inside the bell is roughly equal to the water pressure at that depth. Think of it as an elevator to the seafloor. π Diving bells provide a safe and controlled environment for underwater tasks. Theyβre used for construction, salvage, and research. It's a historical precursor to modern submersibles.
