The 'eastern chipmunk' is a small, striped rodent found in eastern North America. It's known for its reddish-brown fur and five dark stripes along its back. Think of it as nature's little striped bandit, always on the lookout for snacks. These chipmunks are expert hoarders, stuffing seeds and nuts into their cheek pouches for winter. They hibernate during the coldest months, waking up periodically to feast on their stored goodies. They are pretty solitary and create extensive burrow systems, making them the ultimate underground residents.
