Definition
Ectomorphy refers to the degree to which someone exhibits a lean, linear, and fragile physique. Ectomorphs are often tall and slender with long limbs, small joints, and minimal muscle mass. They typically have a fast metabolism, making it difficult to gain weight or muscle. Imagine a high school basketball player known for their speed and agility rather than bulk. Ectomorphy is one of the three components (along with mesomorphy and endomorphy) used to describe somatotypes. Think of it as the 'skinny' end of the body type spectrum.
