Definition
The ethmoidal sinus is an alternative name for the ethmoid sinus, a set of air-filled spaces within the ethmoid bone. These sinuses are situated between the eyes and nose. Imagine them as small air pockets that humidify inhaled air. They contribute to the paranasal sinus system and are lined with mucous membranes. Drainage into the nasal cavity helps to keep them clear. Infections can cause ethmoidal sinusitis.
