Definition
The Eurasian otter, *Lutra lutra*, is a semi-aquatic mammal inhabiting rivers, lakes, and coastal areas across Europe and Asia. It's a skilled swimmer and diver, perfectly adapted for hunting fish and other aquatic prey. These otters have a long, slender body, short legs, and a powerful tail that propels them through the water. They are generally solitary animals, except during mating season or when raising their young. Eurasian otters play an important role in maintaining the health of their aquatic ecosystems.
