Definition
Eutheria is a major group of mammals that includes all placental mammals. These mammals are characterized by having a complex placenta that nourishes the developing fetus during gestation. This allows for a longer period of development inside the mother compared to marsupials. Basically, these are mammals with advanced 'in-house' incubation. Humans, cats, dogs, and whales all belong to Eutheria. It's a classification reflecting evolutionary advancements.
