Fasciolopsis is a genus of trematodes, specifically large intestinal flukes that parasitize humans and pigs. Fasciolopsis buski is the most significant species, causing fasciolopsiasis. This infection is common in Asia, particularly where people consume raw or undercooked aquatic plants. Symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, and malnutrition. Think of them as the unwanted dinner guests who eat all your food and leave a mess 😩. They're freeloaders of the worst kind!
