"Fenland" describes a flat, low-lying region that was formerly marsh or swamp and has been artificially drained for agricultural use. πΎ Think of it as a marsh that humans have tamed. Itβs characterized by rich, peaty soil that's great for farming, but also susceptible to flooding if not properly maintained. The British Fens are a famous example. Itβs a delicate balance between nature and human intervention. Fenland is like reclaiming nature for our needs!
