Definition
The genus *Indri* contains only one living species: the indri lemur (*Indri indri*). Indris are the largest living lemurs. They are known for their loud, wailing calls, which they use to communicate across long distances. These lemurs are strictly arboreal, spending their entire lives in the trees. They are herbivores, feeding primarily on leaves, fruits, and flowers. Conservation efforts are essential to protect the indri from habitat loss.
