Definition
The genus Liposcelis includes various species of booklice, small insects found in human dwellings and natural environments. They are wingless and feed primarily on fungi, molds, and starchy materials. These insects are often found in stored food products, books, and damp areas. While generally harmless, large populations can become a nuisance. Think of them as the tiny roommates you never asked for, but whose rent is paid in eating mold. Identifying them requires a keen eye and sometimes a magnifying glass.
