The genus *Scutigera* includes centipedes known for their speed and numerous legs, with *Scutigera coleoptrata* (the house centipede) being the most familiar. Think of them as the Usain Bolts of the centipede world 🏃. They're predators, feeding on insects and spiders within homes. Their bodies are relatively flat, allowing them to squeeze into tight spaces. While their appearance can be startling, they are generally harmless to humans, preferring to flee rather than bite. They're essentially free pest control!
