Geotropism is a plant's growth response to gravity. Simply put, it's how plants know which way is up and which way is down. β¬οΈ Roots exhibit positive geotropism, growing downwards into the soil, while stems usually show negative geotropism, growing upwards against gravity. Itβs a critical adaptation that ensures plants can access water and nutrients. Unlike phototropism (response to light), geotropism is guided by the force of gravity. Think of it as the Earth gently guiding the roots.
