Definition
The Golgi body (also called Golgi apparatus or Golgi complex) is an organelle in eukaryotic cells. It processes and packages proteins and lipids. Think of it as the cell's post office βοΈ. It modifies, sorts, and ships these molecules to their destinations. The Golgi body consists of flattened sacs called cisternae. It plays a crucial role in protein trafficking and secretion. Without it, cells couldn't function correctly.
