Definition
Harare is the capital and largest city of Zimbabwe, located in the northeastern part of the country. It serves as the administrative, commercial, and transportation hub of Zimbabwe. Founded in 1890, the city was originally named Salisbury after Lord Salisbury, the British Prime Minister. Harare is known for its tree-lined streets, parks, and gardens, making it a relatively green city. Consider it the Zimbabwean version of Washington, D.C., but with more vibrant local markets and culture.
