Definition
The hepatic tanager is another species of tanager found in the Americas, particularly in the southwestern United States and Mexico. 🇲🇽 They are slightly larger and stockier than summer tanagers, with a more subdued coloration. Males are a duller red, sometimes appearing brownish-red, while females are yellowish. Hepatic tanagers prefer drier, more open woodlands than summer tanagers. They're the less flashy, but equally cool, cousin of the summer tanager. 😎
