Definition
Inequity is the lack of fairness or justice, especially in the distribution of resources or opportunities. It's the opposite of equity and describes a situation where some people are unfairly disadvantaged compared to others. Think of it as a tilted playing field where some players have a much harder time reaching the goal. It refers to systemic unfairness rather than individual instances of unfairness. It's not the same as inequality, which simply means difference. Inequity implies injustice and unfair treatment.
