The term "intension" (with an 's') comes from logic and philosophy, derived from the Latin word 'intendere,' meaning 'to stretch out' or 'to aim at.' It refers to the inherent characteristics that define a concept. Note that this is NOT 'intention' with a 't', which relates to purpose.
