Jim Thorpe was an American athlete of Native American (Sac and Fox) heritage. He excelled in multiple sports, including football, baseball, and track and field. Thorpe won gold medals in the pentathlon and decathlon at the 1912 Olympics. He was later stripped of his medals due to a technicality, but they were posthumously reinstated. He is regarded as one of the greatest athletes of all time. 🏆
