Definition
Lesser celandine is a low-growing plant with heart-shaped leaves and bright yellow, star-like flowers. It's an early bloomer, often one of the first signs of spring. Unlike some of its relatives, lesser celandine prefers damp, shady areas. Think of it as a cheerful little burst of sunshine on the forest floor. π Its flowers open in the sun and close at night, like tiny solar panels. The plant disappears completely by summer, storing energy in its roots for the next year. Itβs like a plant ninja, vanishing without a trace.
