Definition
'Make-believe' refers to something that is not real; pretended. It describes activities, stories, or worlds that are created through imagination, especially by children in play. Make-believe allows us to explore different roles, scenarios, and possibilities without real-world consequences. Think of playing 'house' or pretending to be a superhero. Unlike a lie, which is intended to deceive, make-believe is openly understood as not being real. It fuels creativity and helps us develop social skills.
