The Malayan tapir (Tapirus indicus) is the only tapir species native to Asia, found primarily in the rainforests of Malaysia, Sumatra, Thailand, and Myanmar. It's easily recognizable by its distinctive black and white pattern, resembling it's wearing a saddle. 🖤 Like other tapirs, it has a short, prehensile snout used for grasping leaves and fruits. They are herbivores, feeding on a variety of plants. These tapirs are generally solitary and nocturnal. 🌃 Habitat loss and hunting pose significant threats to their survival. Conservation efforts are crucial to protect this unique species. 🌏
