"Mesua" is a genus of flowering plants in the family Calophyllaceae. These are evergreen trees native to tropical regions of Asia, particularly Southeast Asia. They are known for their beautiful, fragrant flowers and durable timber. The most well-known species is *Mesua ferrea*, the Ceylon ironwood. These trees are often used in landscaping and are valued for their ornamental qualities and medicinal properties. The flowers are often white with prominent yellow stamens.
