Definition
A meteor shower is a celestial event where numerous meteors streak across the night sky. These meteors are small pieces of space debris, often from comets, entering Earth's atmosphere. As they burn up due to friction, they create bright streaks of light. Meteor showers occur when Earth passes through a stream of debris left behind by a comet. Different showers happen at predictable times of the year, originating from specific points in the sky (radiants). Seeing a meteor shower can feel magical, like the sky is putting on a show!
