Definition
The metopion is an anthropological landmark located on the forehead. It's the most anterior (forward) point of the frontal bone, situated in the midline, between the brow ridges. Think of it as the flattest point right above the nose, at the center of your forehead π―. It is used for measuring skull dimensions and studying human variation. Its location helps track skull development and differences between populations. Small variations in the metopion can be used in forensic anthropology.
