A "moon-curser" (sometimes "moon curser") is a historical term for someone, especially on the coast of Cornwall in England, who lured ships onto rocks at night by using false lights, so they would wreck and the "moon-curser" could steal the cargo. It is similar to piracy on land.🌙🚢 These individuals were essentially maritime bandits. Imagine it as a very old and dark form of insurance fraud, where the sea itself was the weapon. The practice was incredibly dangerous for sailors and demonstrated a callous disregard for human life.
