Definition
A moufflon (sometimes spelled "mouflon") is a wild sheep found mainly on the islands of Corsica and Sardinia. Often considered one of the ancestors of modern domestic sheep, moufflons have reddish-brown coats and curved horns in males. They are smaller than many other wild sheep species and are well-adapted to mountainous environments. Think of them as living relics from a time before farms. They represent the wild origins of our familiar sheep. 🐑 They have persisted for millennia.
