"Nearsighted" (also called myopic) describes someone who can see clearly up close but has trouble seeing things far away. Imagine trying to read a book right in front of you versus trying to read a sign across the street. It’s a common vision condition that's usually corrected with glasses or contacts. People with nearsightedness have difficulty seeing distant objects in focus. In contrast, farsighted people can see far away but not up close. Being nearsighted means your eye focuses light incorrectly, making faraway things blurry.
