Nematoda, also known as roundworms, represent a phylum of worm-like animals found in nearly every environment. They are incredibly diverse and abundant, living in soil, water, and as parasites in plants and animals. Unlike flatworms, they have a cylindrical body shape with a complete digestive system. They range in size from microscopic to several meters long. ð Nematodes play vital roles in nutrient cycling and can be both beneficial and harmful. Some cause diseases, while others help control pests.
