Definition
"Octans" is a faint constellation located in the southern sky 🌌. It's near the South Celestial Pole, making it important for navigation in the Southern Hemisphere. It contains Sigma Octantis, a star that can be used as a south pole star, though it's much fainter than Polaris (the North Star). The constellation is relatively small and not easily visible to the naked eye. Think of it as the Southern Hemisphere's less famous cousin of Ursa Minor. It is mostly used for navigation rather than being visually striking.
