Similar to 'Douglas pine', 'Oregon pine' is another common, yet technically incorrect, name for the Douglas fir. Itβs often used because of the treeβs visual similarities to true pines. This is like calling a square a rectangle; all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. It's a large, evergreen conifer that thrives in the Pacific Northwest.
